Payroll company closure leaves businesses scrambling

Federal officials are investigating a payroll company that closed abruptly and left more than 250,000 people in the US without paychecks and businesses like Tanya Willis' animal shelter nearly at a standstill. New York state-based MyPayrollHR is thought to have diverted $35 million from employee checks and accounts, leaving some with negative balances and employers struggling to pay staff.
