Feline foamy virus is easily transmitted between domestic cats and pumas and is approaching ubiquity in feral and wild cats in Colorado, Florida and Southern California, according to several recent studies. Seroprevalence ranged from 42% to 75% in domestic cats admitted to shelters from trap-neuter-return programs or nonowner surrender in the three states, and 69% to nearly 84% in wild pumas.
