Pandemic puts a crimp in veterinarian-client bonds

Veterinarians need to enjoy interacting with people as well as animals to be successful, and social distancing during the pandemic has made the job more difficult, veterinarian Cherri Trusheim says. Veterinary care is in high demand as homebound people adopt and foster pets, Dr. Trusheim says, but the need to social distance has led some to postpone crucial vaccinations, which can be dangerous to the health of both pets and people.
