The FDA's Center for Veterinary Medicine approved an expanded indication on a canine epilepsy drug, Pexion, or imepitoin, to treat extreme noise aversion in dogs. The drug was effective in a placebo-controlled study involving pet dogs that were afraid of fireworks, though three of the 90 dogs in the treatment group became abnormally aggressive while on the drug.
