Northwest Pennsylvania Pet Emergency Center in Erie, Pa., is no longer open on Mondays and Tuesdays due to a shortage of emergency veterinarians, says veterinarian and hospital medical director Brian Christman. "Many local veterinarians have assisted us at the emergency center, and several continue to do so, but it has been increasingly difficult for many of them to continue this due to ongoing veterinarian shortages in their own practices, family commitments, health, etc.," said Dr. Christman.
