Experimental vaccine controls ASFV in wild boars

An experimental oral vaccine conferred 92% protection against a strain of African swine fever virus in Eurasian wild boars. Controlling ASFV in wild boars and hogs may be key to controlling it in domestic pigs, says Bob Rowland, a professor of diagnostic medicine and pathobiology at Kansas State University's College of Veterinary Medicine.
