A new law in California that prohibits the retail sale of commercially bred dogs, cats and rabbits means residents who want to give live rabbits as Easter gifts will have to look elsewhere. Rabbits are not low-maintenance pets, and many are surrendered to shelters or abandoned outdoors soon after Easter every year.
