A cow on a ranch in Madison County, Mont., that is within the brucellosis surveillance area tested positive for the disease during voluntary herd screening and was euthanized, according to state officials. "A high rate of testing -- much of it voluntary -- is the primary reason we continue to find affected herds rapidly, which not only minimizes the impact on that producer but protects our state and our trading partners," said state veterinarian Marty Zaluski.
