Zebrafish discovery could aid Alzheimer's research

A microscopic image of a zebrafish's lymphatic symptom not only won NIH researchers a photography award, it also demonstrated that mammals are not the only creatures with a lymphatic system associated with the central nervous system, says Daniel Castranova, one of the researchers on the award-winning team. The finding means zebrafish could be useful in the study of Alzheimer's disease and other diseases that involve the brain and lymphatic system.
