An activist who organizes protests in scientists' neighborhoods posted a photo on social media of herself receiving a COVID-19 vaccine, writes neuroscientist Michele Basso, whose Parkinson's disease research has drawn the activist's ire. The activist is either unaware or doesn't care that the vaccine she received to protect her from a deadly disease was made possible only through "decades of fundamental cellular and molecular biological research, much of it conducted in non-human animals," Basso writes.
