Shane Boylan, a veterinarian at the South Carolina Aquarium, is hoping stem cell therapy enables a young green sea turtle slashed by a boat propeller to return to the sea. The treatment is a novel but growing area in veterinary medicine, and Dr. Boylan says it offers "a real chance that the spinal cord could heal and the animal could be released."
