The California Circular Economy and Pollution Reduction Act aims to eliminate 75% of single-use plastic packaging and foodservice waste by requiring producers to make these items 100% compostable or recyclable by 2030. The Glass Packaging Institute is refraining from changing its stated position until more clarity is provided regarding exactly how producers are expected to meet these goals, said GPI president Scott DeFife.
