Dairy groups call for modified dietary guidelines

Dairy industry groups are working to incorporate flexibility surrounding the fat content of dairy foods into the 2020 Dietary Guidelines for Americans, which are currently being assessed. In a joint letter to the secretaries of Agriculture and Health and Human Services, the International Dairy Foods Association and the National Milk Producers Federation requested that scientific research indicating the healthfulness of dairy foods regardless of fat levels be considered in the guidelines.
