Free social studies curriculum includes lessons with interactive features

MobyMax is offering free social studies curriculum for grades K-8. The curriculum includes interactive lessons, quizzes and progress monitoring based on state and NCSS standards.

Virtual conference offers sessions on writing instruction

The Writing Mindset, a free, virtual conference hosted by Turnitin, offers several webcasts focused on writing instruction. Topics covered in include using mobile devices, telling digital stories and the practice of “copy to learn,” among other topics.

‘Exceptional Child’ program offers online professional development for SPED teachers

Exceptional Child, from Scenario Learning, is designed to provide professional training online to teachers who work with students that have special needs. The system includes courses on ADHD, autism and special education law, among others. Subscriptions are available for organizations as well as individuals.

Personalized formative assessment platform offers free accounts to teachers

Edulastic is a cloud-based platform offering personalized formative assessment for K-12 schools. The system offers questions for Smarter Balance and PARCC tests, automated grading and assessments that can be customized by teachers. A free version is available to teachers and a paid enterprise version is available for districts.
