News that Target will launch a new private label grocery brand called Good & Gather took the top spot among food and beverage stories this week. The brand, which is set to debut in stores next month, will replace Target’s Archer Farms and Simply Balanced house brands.
Two other product launches also landed in the top five this week: ice cream brand Enlightened’s new Keto Collection of low-carb pints and bars, and KitKat Chocolatory’s Sublime Volcanic line. The upscale chocolate line made with rare cocoa from volcanic islands is available for a limited time online and at the KitKat Chocolatory boutique in Melbourne, Australia.
In the foodservice and culinary world, a recipe for a Korean cold cucumber soup caught readers’ attention this week. Made with shredded cucumber and ice water, the chilly dish is a perfect addition to the menu during these final, sweltering weeks of summer.
Rounding out the top five this week was news from New York, where regulators are pushing for a 10% limit on restaurant delivery fees. The state’s Liquor Authority is proposing a 10% cap on the fees full-service restaurants with liquor licenses can pay to third-party delivery services such as Grubhub and Uber Eats.
