Video transcript:
We’ve published thirteen episodes of our new podcast, “Mastering Workplace Culture.” Each episode brings you unfiltered conversations with leaders who’ve transformed their organizations from the inside out.
Here are two powerful previews from our episodes with Joel Anderson, CEO of Petco, headquartered in San Diego, Calif., and Sarah Cole, founder and CEO of Cole Forums and Integrity First Coaching in Swansea, Wales, UK.
Joel took over the CEO role in July 2024. Joel found that the previous company’s values were actually goals, not cultural anchors. Joel and the leadership team decided to rewrite Petco’s values to lay the groundwork for the needed culture transition.
In this clip, Joel describes his first step: understanding Petco’s “why.” He found Petco Partners (their term for team members) in every store who were passionate about pets and pet parents. That became the foundation for the values rewrite.
Sarah has built a high-trust peer network for CEOs, general counsel and senior executives navigating complex leadership challenges. She creates trusted spaces where senior leaders can connect meaningfully, navigate challenges and access transformative support from their peers.
One of the biggest challenges facing senior leaders today is how AI will impact their businesses. In this clip, Sarah explains why the most future‑ready organizations aren’t guessing what AI will do — they’re strengthening their workplace cultures so teams can move quickly as the landscape shifts and marketplace pressure increases.
We’re always looking for great workplace cultures to feature on the podcast. If you’re a senior leader of an organization with a culture of respect that drives results, we’d love to speak with you.
