It is a good time to be a managed service provider. Managed service providers are showing resilience, with 64% reporting revenue growth last year and 67% expecting further growth over the next three years, according to the Kaseya MSP Outlook 2025 report. Smaller MSPs are thriving by leveraging niche expertise and 83% of MSPs offer co-managed services, aiding in business continuity and cloud management. Kaseya’s Vice Chairman of the Board of Directors Fred Voccola echoed this optimism during his keynote during the #TECHSUPERSHOW, which includes ITEXPO 2025 and MSP Expo 2025.

During his fireside chat with TMC CEO Rich Tehrani, Voccola, who recently moved into his new role after serving as CEO of the AI-powered cybersecurity & IT management software provider for 15 years, discussed the crucial role of MSPs in driving economic growth, noting that MSPs support 77% of US private sector growth. He highlighted the need for MSPs to ensure the availability and security of technology for businesses, underscoring their role in business operations. One of the most interesting aspects of his keynote was his emphasis on the relationship MSPs have with their customers.

“MSP is a personal relationship business, especially for small MSPs,” Voccola noted, adding that MSPs must overcommunicate and show their value to their customers every day. “Manage your local relationship,” he said, adding, “I don’t think we are going to see 400 MSPs controlling the small business community.”

AI opportunities for MSPs

Voccola shared his insights on AI, comparing its vast potential to broad fields like technology and financial services. AI has become so ubiquitous that he said, “I think AI means everything…it is like saying technology.”  Voccola sees AI as a great way to monetize revenue and make tech decisions based on what can be automated.  Vendors like Kaseya, he said, can leverage all the data we have and automate tasks.

Voccola emphasized AI’s wide-ranging applications. He encouraged MSPs to delve into AI’s capabilities to expand into new parts of their customers’ businesses. He recommended MSPs consider offering AI training and consultancy services. These services as strategic opportunities for MSPs to expand their offerings and better equip their clients to understand and leverage AI technologies.

Advice to MSPs on future-proofing

What’s next? Well, in terms of new products from Kaseya we won’t be able to find out until later this year. Voccola did tease a new product in the works that will “take AI automation to the next level.” By automating everyday tasks, “the MSP will get more of the wallet share in other areas through AI-enabled services,” he predicted.

Bringing his keynote full circle, Voccola said the most important thing for the MSP market to remember is that “we are in a local industry.” He concluded: “Your customers are yours, and they trust you. Tech is our superpower.”
