American Association of School Librarians and SmartBrief Launch Weekly Publication
The American Association of School Librarians (AASL) has partnered with SmartBrief to create a new weekly e-newsletter dedicated to providing timely information to the school library community.
“AASL’s School Library SmartBrief will broaden our outreach to school librarians, other educators, and education stakeholders about the essential role of the school librarian in teaching all learners. I’m excited to see the launch of the new School Library SmartBrief as I regularly read SmartBrief issues from other organizations for easy access to what’s important or trending in the education landscape. Now I’ll have even more relevant and pertinent news delivered to me through AASL’s partnership with SmartBrief. I look forward to sharing School Library SmartBrief with my colleagues in other educational organizations.” - Sylvia Norton, AASL Executive Director
A vital publication for members of the American Association of School Librarians, the School Library SmartBrief is a free news service that will supply insights and resources to school library professionals and community leaders. The publication will also provide literacy best practices and professional learning and development information for librarians and educators.
SmartBrief CEO Rick Stamberger shared, “We are excited to support the American Association of School Librarians in their mission to empower education leaders to transform teaching and learning through AASL’s School Library SmartBrief.”
The American Association of School Librarians (AASL) is the only national professional membership organization focused on school librarians and the school library community. AASL has more than 7,000 members and serves school librarians in the United States, Canada, and around the world. AASL was a section of the American Library Association until 1951, when the organization became an independent division. Having supported the profession for decades, AASL understands the current realities and evolving dynamics of the professional environment and is positioned to help members achieve universal recognition of school librarians as indispensable educational leaders.
