Sprouts Farmers Market saw strong results in the third quarter after taking a brief hit immediately following Amazon's announcement that it would acquire Whole Foods Market, and the retailer is in a good position to compete with Amazon, according to UBS Analyst Mark Carden. Sprouts offers a strong selection of produce at prices that are often lower than at Whole Foods and other competitors, and its consistently lower prices put Sprouts in a position to compete with both organic and traditional grocers, Carden reported.
