Consumers are on track to spend about $9 billion on candy, costumes, decorations and other Halloween-themed items this year, closing in on last year's record of $9.1 billion, according to a survey from NRF and Prosper Insights & Analytics. "The economy is good and consumer confidence is high, so families are ready to spend on Halloween this year," NRF President and CEO Matthew Shay said.
