Luxury beauty sales grew 6% in 2017 from the previous year, hitting nearly $18 billion, and retailers have tweaked and expanded the category to cater to changing consumer needs and growing demand for wellness products. Neiman Marcus revamped its beauty department to add more indie brands, Saks Fifth Avenue now boasts an apothecary wellness section in 24 stores and Barneys New York has expanded its wellness and clean-beauty offerings.
