Some teachers are using music, comic books and other pop culture references to engage students in lessons on history, social studies and finance. In high-school teacher David Reiff's class, "American History through Pop Culture," students can create music videos and rewrite lyrics "to reflect the course content," while another high-school teacher, Tim Smyth, has catalogued comic book resources on a website.
