As part of an ongoing effort to enhance transparency, Facebook has updated areas of its website to provide details regarding demographics, location, interests and other factors used to target specific ads, and inform individuals about the businesses that are uploading their personal data to run a recent ad and businesses that have shared lists with their data. The platform is also enabling consumers to adjust some settings to control ads such as those based on certain topics or on data from outside businesses.
