The Consumer Goods Forum -- which includes Procter & Gamble, Nestle, General Mills, Johnson & Johnson, Colgate-Palmolive, Danone, Unilever, L'Oreal and PepsiCo -- has committed to supporting local organizations across the world that supply at-risk residents with food and personal care products. The World Bank has estimated the coronavirus pandemic is forcing up to 150 million more people into extreme poverty.

Nestle, Unilever, Danone North America, PepsiCo and roughly 200 other food producers have joined the 10x20x30 initiative. The program aims to reduce food waste by 50% by 2030.

Procter & Gamble, Unilever, Nestle and Clorox are among the companies that launched tests this week allowing consumers to order CPG products in reusable packaging. The program, known as Loop, is part of a partnership with TerraCycle to reduce waste.

Nonprofit organization CDP has ranked Unilever, L'Oreal, Danone, Nestle and Colgate-Palmolive as the five CPG firms most ready to adapt to the effects of climate change. The factors that CDP considered included use of water, exposure to emissions and climate governance.

Coca Cola, Groupe Danone, Kellogg, Kraft Foods, Nestle, PepsiCo and Unilever have agreed to put nutrition content information, including calories and fat per serving and recommended daily amounts, on the front of food packaging in the EU, with more detailed nutrient information on the back. This voluntary initiative by the Confederation of the Food and Drink Industries is part of an anti-obesity drive.
