The number of people who stream video online at last once a week has reached 65%, and two-thirds of those viewers are turning more to web-based platforms than broadcast or pay TV, Horowitz Research says after surveying about 1,600 TV viewers in early 2019. The study refers to a majority of streaming pay-TV subscribers as "content omnivores" who use multiple devices for viewing.
