The US government has filed a lawsuit against Gilead Sciences for allegedly infringing government-owned patents related to the company's HIV drug Truvada. Gilead donated Truvada to the government for testing purposes, and the CDC determine it could be used to prevent infection. It has received several patents for treatment regimens it developed using Truvada.
