Grocers across the nation, from H.E. Butt Grocery and Publix to Walmart and Target, have started to cut back on hours as shoppers rush to stock up on staples. The reduced operating hours are intended to give stores time to restock and sanitize as grocers work to stay ahead of the high demand for items including hand sanitizer, toilet paper, sanitation wipes and canned goods, and some companies have set limits on how many items customers can buy at one time.
