Preferred Apartment Communities has acquired a 281-unit apartment development in the Orlando, Fla., area in a deal worth $62.2 million. The sellers were Catalyst Development Partners and HQ Capital.

Bell Partners has acquired two apartment complexes in Boca Raton, Fla., from two different sellers, including a 90-unit property sold by Bluerock Residential Growth REIT. That apartment traded for $37.75 million.

Preferred Apartment Communities has bought a 288-unit apartment property in Panama City, Fla. Jeff Sherman of Preferred Apartment Communities noted that the property had been identified as a potential acquisition target late last year.

Mishorim-Gold Properties has big plans for The Grove in Wesley Chapel, Fla., which it bought last month for $62.7 million. The developer intends to transform the shopping center into a family-centered dining and entertainment destination with attractions like a children's park, an amphitheater, a microbrewery a family salon, a dueling piano bar and a F45 fitness studio.

Preferred Apartment Communities has acquired a 528-unit apartment complex near downtown Orlando, Fla. The seller was an entity related to Morgan Group. Prudential Capital Corp. provided a $77.8 million loan to finance the acquisition.
