Sen. Mark Warner (D-Va.), incoming Senate Intelligence Committee chairman and himself a former cell phone executive, has called on telecoms and social media to preserve evidence of the storming of the U.S Capitol that left five dead and legislators shaken.

The Federal Communications Commission needs to act more aggressively to provide universal broadband access in the face of the country's need to remain at home, Sen. Mark Warner, D-Va., said. The ranking member of the Senate Intelligence Committee urged FCC Chairman Ajit Pai to take such steps as increase power limits in rural areas for wireless broadband providers and relax restraints on antenna height.

Sen. Mark Warner, D-Va., is calling on President Donald Trump to make security clearance reform a focus of the administration. "We write to request that you personally apply the utmost priority to personnel security clearance reform to ensure we can recruit and retain a trusted workforce for our nation's national security and public safety missions," states a letter by Warner sent on behalf of the Senate Intelligence Committee.

Equifax's extensive data breach spurred Sen. Mark Warner, D-Va., to say Congress might need to consider more wide-ranging cybersecurity and privacy policies to protect consumers. Warner, co-founder of the Senate Cybersecurity Caucus, said the breach's scope may drive lawmakers to tighten regulations on companies that collect huge amounts of data on individuals.

AT&T on Friday named three divisional leaders who will take over when the company completes its merger with Time Warner, which is expected by the end of 2017. John Stankey will head up Time Warner's businesses, John Donovan will oversee the company's TV and phone businesses, and Lori Lee will take over AT&T's international businesses.
