PepsiCo's launch of a redesigned 2-liter bottle in Chicago, Minneapolis, St. Paul and Wisconsin this week -- with a national rollout to follow -- is driven by a desire to improve the bottle's ergonomics without using more plastic, said Mauro Porcini, PepsiCo's chief design officer. The bottles slim down above the base with a ridged design that varies by brand and makes the bottles easier to grip and pour, said Porcini.
