After months of close coordination with AOPA, strategic insurance partner AssuredPartners Aerospace is teaming up with an A-rated aviation insurer that has pledged to explore streamlined underwriting guidelines for pilots up to age 79.

Pilots and air traffic controllers can receive the Pfizer-BioNTech COVID-19 vaccine, but they cannot fly or control air traffic for 48 hours after each dose, the Federal Aviation Administration said in a policy statement released Saturday.

The US Navy Blue Angels said goodbye to the F/A-18 A/B/C/D Hornet aircraft they have used for flight demonstrations for more than three decades with a final flyover taking off from Naval Air Station Pensacola in Florida. The airplanes will be replaced for the squadron's 2021 show season with Super Hornets modified by Boeing.

The Navy launched its first squadron with both manned and unmanned aircraft on Thursday. The squadron "points to the future of naval aviation," said Vice Admiral David H. Buss, commander of naval air forces. The squadron will feature eight manned helicopters and 10 Fire Scout MQ-8B unmanned helicopters.
