A group of lawmakers from both parties plans to present a pair of bills today that would split a coronavirus relief package worth $908 billion into two parts. The lawmakers hope the legislation can be included in a government spending bill needed by Friday.

Starbucks will offer free coffees to front-line workers including doctors, nurses, paramedics and firefighters during December. The coffee chain, which said it has given out 300,000 care packages and more than 2 million cups of coffee during the pandemic, will also contribute $100,000 to the National Alliance on Mental Illness.

Pasadena, Calif., is one of two cities in Los Angeles County with its own health department, which allows the city's restaurants to stay open for outdoor dining despite the county's ban. The city has issued an order limiting outdoor seating at outdoor tables to people from the same households.

Fox Restaurant Concepts' launch of new takeout-only concept Fly Bye To Go followed the familiar collaborative path the group takes each time it develops a new concept, founder Sam Fox says. "We have this 'circle of learning,' where everyone within all of our brands learns from each other. With that, we always borrow or learn or educate ourselves on the history of things that we've done," he said.

Shake Shack has put premium burgers made with black truffle sauce on the menu at locations in New York City and Southern California. The sauce for the limited-time menu items is made with a black truffle oil from luxury importer Regalis Foods.
