S&P Global Ratings is tracking the spike in activity in the US Collateralized Loan Obligation market, and projecting that new-issue CLOs will hit $120 billion this year.

Sen. Bob Menendez, D.-N.J., has added his name to a bill backed by the the National Restaurant Association that would allocate $120 billion in federal funds to help restaurants, caterers and bars hurt by the pandemic. The Restaurants Act would create grants to pay salaries, rent and other bills.

Bipartisan bills introduced in both chambers of Congress would create a $120 billion fund to help independent restaurants and other small businesses recover from pandemic-related losses. "The introduction of this bill provides hope of survival for small business restaurant owners from the smallest towns to the broadest urban streets," said Sean Kennedy, executive vice president of public affairs of the National Restaurant Association.
