The Bell 360 Invictus helicopter that's being developed for the US Army Future Attack Reconnaissance Aircraft program is 30% complete.

Boeing and Sikorsky have officially unveiled the new Defiant-X helicopter, the team's design for the US Army Future Long-Range Assault Aircraft program. Bell is proposing its V-280 tiltrotor aircraft for FLRAA.

The Bell V-280 Valor tiltrotor has reached the 200-flight-hour milestone after more than 150 sorties. The US Army is considering the V-280 alongside the Sikorsky-Boeing SB-1 Defiant for the Future Long-Range Assault Aircraft program.

Bell Textron's new facility in Wichita, Kan., will support the company's prototype projects for the US Army's Future Attack and Reconnaissance Aircraft and Future Long-Range Assault Aircraft programs. "I look forward to seeing Bell contribute to our strong aviation industry as a defense and commercial leader," said Sen. Jerry Moran, R-Kan.

Bell's development of the V-280 Valor is on track. "Since Dec. 18, 2017, we have made good progress in demonstrating a low-risk, more-affordable tiltrotor for the [Army's] Future Long-Range Assault Aircraft," program manager Ryan Ehinger says.
