Textron Aviation's new Beechcraft Denali is joining the company's high-performance turboprop aircraft offering alongside the Beechcraft King Air 260. "The Beechcraft Denali represents our continued strategy to invest in clean-sheet and current products in both our Beechcraft and Cessna iconic brands," said President and CEO Ron Draper.

Five-time NFL MVP Peyton Manning has been selected to serve as honorary chair of Textron Aviation's 2022 Special Olympics Airlift, an annual endeavor in which aircraft owners and operators from across the US transport coaches and athletes to the event. Manning will help to recruit at least 200 owners of Cessna Citation, Hawker, Beechjet, Beechcraft King Air and Beechcraft Premier aircraft to fly participants next June to the Special Olympics USA Games in Orlando, Fla.

Norway and the US, working with Kongsberg Defense & Aerospace, recently conducted a successful test release of the Joint Strike Missile from the F-35. The test is part of a joint program to verify the integration of JSM and the F-35 Lightning II.

Northrop Grumman and Lockheed Martin have been selected to develop separate systems for the Next-Generation Interceptor program's $1.6 billion design phase. Lockheed Martin has partnered with Aerojet Rocketdyne, and Northrop Grumman has enlisted Raytheon.

Australian units of BAE Systems, Textron, Raytheon and Northrop Grumman have been shortlisted for the Australian Navy's program to incorporate drones into its naval fleet. The program is part of a broad $205 billion effort by the Australian government to invest in defense.
