The cloud-based video supply chain company Ownzones has hired Arjun Ramamurthy as its global chief technology officer. Arjun has more than 25 years of experience in the industry and most recently served as senior vice president of technology at Twentieth Century Fox/Disney. Earlier he had worked with such companies as Deluxe and Warner Bros.

Jean-Olivier Racine has been chosen to serve as chief technology officer at Outset Medical. "His background in designing scalable and performant cloud architectures for at-home health and consumer products, such as Amazon Halo and Fire TV, and in using machine learning for retrieving health insights from data, such as Comprehend Medical, will be invaluable as we continue to invent in ways that uplift the dialysis patient population," said CEO Leslie Trigg.

Brings experience in artificial intelligence.

The open-source RISC-V instruction-set architecture is finding a wider base of applications in chip design, according to Zdenek Prikryl, Codasip's chief technology officer. "Thanks to RISC-V's open ISA and micro-architectural implementations being unrestricted, you see a lot of Chinese start-ups, big companies and open-source companies that have designed or are designing RISC-V processors from scratch in China," he says in this interview.

Seventy-five percent of internet of things projects are failing because companies are designing for one particular problem or system, said Cisco Chief Technology Officer Kevin Bloch. "Eventually, customers find themselves with multiple silos from multiple vendors that don't interoperate, are not cybersecure, use different protocols, and generate more complexity at greater cost," he said.
