The Alkaline Water Co. has appointed Tom Hutchison, a former Sprouts Farmers Market marketing executive, as its chief marketing officer. Hutchison will lead the company's first-ever omnichannel campaign for its Alkaline88 brand along with former NBA champion Shaquille O'Neal, whose image is featured on packaging for the brand's new Shaq Paq -- a six-pack of two-liter Alkaline88 bottles.

Monster's fourth-quarter year-over-year net sales increased 17.6%, exceeding analyst expectations. An 18.2% surge in Monster's year-over-year sales for January has prompted Goldman Sachs to increase its first-quarter sales growth forecast for the brand by nearly 12%.

Papa John's will pay ABG-Shaq, the company owned by Shaquille O'Neal, $4.1 million over three years as part of the basketball star's investment and endorsement deal with the chain. O'Neal has signed with a joint venture to acquire a 30% stake in nine Papa John's units in the Atlanta market for $840,000.
