Plant-based dairy products have become a sales powerhouse, notching year-over-year growth of 29% and reaching a total marketplace value of $5.6 billion, according to the research company SPINS. A recent webinar by FMI explored some of the reasons behind the trend, finding that many shoppers who buy plant-based products are trying to focus on helping the environment and improving their own health by adopting a flexitarian approach to eating.
