While visiting Queens to view damage caused by the remnants of Hurricane Ida, President Joe Biden said climate change has now become "everybody's crisis." Biden described it as a "code red" danger that will only get worse if America doesn´t get serious about it.

Emergency services workers exposed to caustic dust and toxic pollutants produced by the Sept. 11, 2001, attacks on the World Trade Center often suffer from chronic conditions that make becoming infected by the coronavirus more serious. The U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention says around 400,000 New Yorkers were exposed to the 9/11 dust-and-debris cloud.
