  • U.S.-China meeting agenda includes cyberspying
When President Barack Obama meets this week with Chinese President Xi Jinping, among the issues he plans to discuss is the spate of cyberattacks waged by China against U.S. networks. But some experts say China has taken no steps so far to curb the hacking. "If the Chinese government wanted to signal to the United States that it wanted to curb its activity, the U.S. government would see it, and we would see it," said Richard Bejtlich, chief security officer at the U.S.-based firm Mandiant. "But it's the same as it's always been." The Washington Times/The Associated Press (6/2) LinkedInFacebookTwitterEmail this Story

  • Opinion: Wherever SpaceX goes, Fla. needs launch site
Florida's Kennedy Space Center Shiloh site needs a commercial launch pad even if SpaceX opts to locate its launching activities in Texas, writes columnist John Kelly. "Any moves that can be made that would make the spaceport here more attractive to a variety of launch endeavors is worthwhile," he writes. • Report: Air traffic update faces uncertain future
The upgrade of the nation's air traffic control computers is plagued by budget overruns and it's "unclear" how the the Federal Aviation Administration will finish crafting both the schedule and system requirements needed to complete the job on time, according to a Transportation Department report. Upgrading the air-traffic computers is now projected to cost 62% more than the original $438 million projected and the threat of delays to the improvements is growing, the report says.
