German car rental company orders over 100K BYD EVs

Sixt, a car rental company based in Germany, signed an agreement to purchase more than 100,000 electric vehicles from China's BYD. The company said the EVs will be deployed in the fourth quarter in the UK, France, Germany and the Netherlands, and the deal is part of Sixt's goal of electrifying up to 90% of its fleet in Europe by 2030.

Chicago seeks lower carbon emissions with building code

Building code changes going into effect next month for new construction in Chicago will require new structures to align with the city's goals for decarbonization. The changes passed by Chicago City Council last month address factors such as energy-efficient lighting, roofs suitable for solar panels, provision for electric appliances and smart, grid-linked HVAC and water appliances.
