The Academy of Missouri Squires inducted family practice physician Margaret Wilson, D.O., dean of the A.T. Still University-Kirksville College of Osteopathic Medicine, into the organization in recognition of her decades of service to patients and the community. The academy honors Missourians for local, state and national-level achievements in their careers.
Tyree Winters, D.O., is scheduled to give the commencement address at the Ohio University Heritage College of Osteopathic Medicine's 2023 commencement in May. Dr. Winters, a pediatrician and child advocate, serves as a residency program director at Goryeb Children's Hospital-Atlantic Health System and is known for his efforts to champion the benefits of dance and exercise for child health.
High School Day at the University of North Texas Health Science Center's Texas College of Osteopathic Medicine is aimed at helping young students learn more about careers in the medical field. Scheduled for Feb. 3, the event seeks to draw students from underrepresented communities, but all are welcome to attend.

Caroline Kirsch, D.O., director of osteopathic education at the University of Wyoming Family Medicine Residency Program-Casper, said education for physicians is important for increasing access to care.

Sponsored by Interprofessional Education Collaboration (IPEC) and the Public Health Service Commissioned Officers Foundation for the Advancement of Public Health, the IPEC Award showcases an interprofessional team of school-based collaborators (faculty, administrators and/or students) and their IPE and collaborative practice projects. One national winning team will receive a $2,000 stipend to travel and present at the invite-only June 2023 IPEC Member Meeting in Washington, D.C. The submission deadline is 8 p.m. ET on Friday, Feb. 3.
