Generations of physicians trained at the West Virginia School of Osteopathic Medicine serve the state, and the school works hard to place students throughout West Virginia while building partnerships with the state's hospitals, colleges and universities, WVSOM President James Nemitz, PhD, said. Rural rotations are required for medical students, creating "a win-win-win for my students, for the hospitals, but most importantly for the patients in West Virginia," Nemitz said.

OSTEOPATHIC MEDICAL EDUCATION
The Arkansas Colleges of Health Education and Arkansas Tech University are creating a pathway to health care education that includes Arkansas College of Osteopathic Medicine. Students who meet certain requirements will receive an interview with the ACHE program of their choice.

The New York Institute of Technology College of Osteopathic Medicine at Arkansas State University has named seven medical students to its Delta Health Policy Fellowship. "The goal of the fellowship is to equip and train rising osteopathic physicians to transform health, healthcare, and health policy," said Brookshield Laurent, DO, chair of clinical medicine and the executive director of the Delta Population Health Institute.

Eleven medical students at the Marian University College of Osteopathic Medicine have been chosen for the Indiana Area Health Education Centers Scholars Program. The two-year program provides training and skills for caring for patients in rural and underserved areas.
