Now is a good time to check the best deals with many racking up debt ahead of Christmas and because the average 0% term is at its lowest in a year, according to data firm Moneyfacts. Yet the top deals have held firm, so it's safest to grab one now in case they disappear, given the mood music.

Yet always pay at least the monthly minimum, don't spend on it and once the 0% period ends the rate will jump to the APR at the time.
