WVSOM to offer manipulative medicine clinic | SHSU-COM anticipates steady enrollment growth | TouroCOM helps undergrads learn about medical school success
The Lake Erie College of Osteopathic Medicine began commemorating its 30th anniversary at the end of December and is planning celebratory activities all year. The school began as a single site in Pennsylvania, has graduated more than 16,000 individuals, includes schools of pharmacy and dental medicine and now encompasses four campuses in three states.

Participants from the Student Osteopathic Manipulative Medicine program at the West Virginia School of Osteopathic Medicine will gain valuable experience offering evaluations and treatment to registered patients at an upcoming clinic starting Jan. 11. The free program is aimed at helping individuals with joint and muscle pain.
The Sam Houston State University College of Osteopathic Medicine is part of recent growth at the institution, projecting to expand from 326 students to 488 in the next year. Enrollment is expected to reach a maximum of 630 students by the 2024-2025 school year, and the first graduates will receive their degrees in 2024.
A special session at Touro College of Osteopathic Medicine provided undergraduate students with advice from TouroCOM leaders and other graduate and professional school representatives on how to apply to medical degree programs and succeed once enrolled. Students were given the opportunity to speak with representatives one on one.
A speaker at a Primary Care Collaborative conference reported that the Veterans Health Administration is offering interprofessional training for clinicians to enhance the quality of primary care in the US. Ohio University Heritage College of Osteopathic Medicine's Dr. Leanne Chrisman-Khawam said the complexity of primary care makes it a good fit for interprofessional education.
