Foundation provides "Dream Flights" to veterans

The Ageless Aviation Dreams Foundation provided six military veterans in Tupelo, Miss., with the chance to experience flight aboard a 1942 Boeing Stearman aircraft. The foundation was established in 2011 and offers flights to veterans nationwide.

At 104, woman is oldest to receive Ageless Aviation Dreams flight

On Oct. 11, Norma Evans enjoyed a flight in a 1942 Boeing Stearman biplane -- the second the spry 104-year-old has taken with the Ageless Aviation Dreams Foundation. Evans is the oldest person to be taken up by the organization, which provides flights in vintage aircraft to seniors and US military veterans living in long-term care communities.

Barton "Bart" Welsh has been honored with the Federal Aviation Administration's Wright Brothers Master Pilot Award for 50-plus years and more than 6,000 hours of safe flying. Welsh recently enjoyed a flight in a Stearman courtesy of the Ageless Aviation Dreams Foundation.

Jane Doyle, 95, enjoyed a flight in a 1942 Boeing Stearman biplane brought to Michigan's Paul C. Miller Airport by Ageless Aviation Dreams Foundation, an organization that offers free flights in vintage aircraft to seniors and veterans. "They took the stick out of the front seat to keep me from trying to steer the plane," joked Doyle.

Ageless Aviation offers dream flights to vets in Ariz.

The Ageless Aviation Dreams Foundation provided the opportunity for 10 US military veterans to fly in a 1940s-era Boeing Stearman biplane on Nov. 10 at Falcon Field Airport in Mesa, Ariz. The event was accompanied with a color guard presentation by the Skyline High School Army ROTC and a speech by Mesa Mayor John Giles.

Rotary club honors WWII veterans with flights in 1940s biplane

Four World War II veterans got the chance to fly in a 1940s Stearman biplane, thanks to the Ageless Aviation Dreams Foundation and the Oroville Noon Rotary Club in California. Veterans are one of the club's themes this year. "I love to fly airplanes. I learned to fly in a Stearman," said 91-year-old Lee Jernigan.
