About 200 nurses, physicians and other health care staff work in CHI Franciscan Health's "virtual hospital," monitoring patients at eight hospitals through webcams and other technologies. Intensive care nurse Shannon Zawilski said unlike nurses who work in the unit, she does not have to deal with constant disruptions so she can sit quietly, broaden her perspective and see the bigger picture for patients.
