Bill and Melinda Gates have teamed up with eBay founder Pierre Omidyar to help finance Radiant Earth, a project that seeks to make data from Earth's satellites available for free to help solve humanitarian and environmental problems. "(Radiant) will help build the 'who, what, where, when or why' for the planning and management of issues such as land tenure, global health, sustainable development, food security and disaster response," said CEO Anne Hale Miglarese.
