The Mayo Clinic's cyclotron facility in Jacksonville, Fla., has been approved by the FDA to manufacture nuclear medicine radiotracers -- including F-18 FDG for cardiac, cancer and neurological imaging, and N-13 ammonia for cardiac imaging. Production of future radiopharmaceuticals approved by the FDA can also be accommodated at the facility, according to the Mayo Clinic.

Mayo Clinic taps Google for cloud storage, AI-based tools

The Mayo Clinic announced a 10-year partnership with Google for cloud storage of patient data and the development of artificial intelligence-based data mining algorithms to improve patient care. Mayo Chief Information Officer Chris Ross said Google will not own or control data, and anonymized data might be shared with Google and other parties for research.
