The AAFP and the National Football League Foundation are working together to raise awareness of the serious nature of sports-related concussions and their long-term effects. The initiative will include three free webinars for family physicians and patient education materials. AAFP President Robert Wergin, M.D., said concussions are an important public health issue and the educational initiative is the "right thing for physicians and it's certainly the right thing for our patients."
